Waking Night Support Worker

Residential Support Worker – Waking Nights

Location: Ascot, Berkshire
Pay: £15.00 per hour (must hold a Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People / Residential Childcare)
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

About the Service

Our brand-new, purpose-built children’s residential service in Ascot has been thoughtfully designed to provide a calm, therapeutic, and nurturing environment for children and young people with complex needs.

Every element of the home — from the layout and lighting to the living spaces, bedrooms, and garden areas — has been created to promote safety, emotional stability, and comfort. This is not a converted house, but a purpose-built, high-quality home designed to help children feel safe, settled, and valued.

It also gives staff the professional environment and resources they need to deliver outstanding care — including throughout the night when reassurance and consistency are vital.

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Waking Night Residential Support Worker to join our founding team as we open this new service.

Working through the night, you will play a key role in maintaining a calm, safe, and supportive environment — helping children feel secure and cared for during night-time hours.

This is an active and purposeful position in a therapeutic setting — not a passive night role. You will provide emotional reassurance, follow detailed care plans, and respond appropriately to any needs that arise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent waking-night supervision and emotional reassurance
  • Maintain a calm, safe, and nurturing overnight environment
  • Respond appropriately to distress, anxiety, or night-time incidents
  • Keep accurate nightly records, logs, and handovers
  • Follow all safeguarding procedures, care plans, and risk assessments
  • Work collaboratively with day and management teams to ensure continuity of care

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People / Residential Childcare (required)
  • Experience working within a children’s residential care setting
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach to challenging situations
  • Reliable, reflective, and committed to delivering exceptional care

Only candidates holding the relevant Level 3 qualification will be considered for this £15 per hour role.

What We Offer

  • £15.00 per hour (Level 3 qualified)
  • Full-time, permanent contract (40 hours per week)
  • Supportive leadership and therapeutic team culture
  • Funded training and ongoing professional development
  • Company pension scheme
  • Free on-site parking

Why Join Us

This is a rare opportunity to join a new, Ofsted-registered service from the very beginning — helping to establish the home’s culture, routines, and high standards of care before our first children arrive.

Night staff are valued as essential members of the team, promoting safety, emotional regulation, and continuity of care throughout the night.

If you hold a Level 3 in Children and Young People / Residential Childcare and want to make a genuine, lasting difference in a supportive, therapeutic setting, we would love to hear from you.

Apply now to join a forward-thinking team creating brighter futures — one night at a time.
